Emmaus Church aims to make a difference in the local and wider community.

Local Community

We organise social events such as Fun Quiz Nights, Music Evenings, Craft Days; check our Events page to see what is happening soon.

We organise social events for young families during school holidays and 3-4 times a year 'Fun & Food' parties on Sunday afternoons.

The Yorkie Group (men only) organise outings to local businesses such as a Special Effects and Restoration Firms.

The Women's Group began at the end of 2008 and organise social events and outings.

We take an assembly once a term at the local primary school and Sarah (Church and Community Worker) works at the school one afternoon a week and teaches recorders after school.

We organise a short Sunday service once a month at the local residential home, Faith House.

Many members are involved in local clubs and societies (badminton, history, WI, Gardening, Over 50's, Line Dancing, Carers, etc)

Wider Community

Emmaus supports missions and sponsors two children.

We give financially to 'Open Doors', a charity that helps the persecuted church. At Harvest time we give to Tearfund, an organisation that aims to overcome global poverty through local Christian churches.

We support a musician working for the charity 'Changing Tunes' who works in a local woman's prison, seeking to reduce re-offending through music.

We sponsor Jean Claude (aged 9)  through the Rwanda Orphans Project. We also give to the Project as it prepares and trains the children for adult life and work.

Emmaus Church is a Fairtrade Church and raises awareness of trade injustice during Fairtrade Fortnight.
