Emmaus Church meets at the Church Centre on a Sunday morning from 10:30 - 12:00. We meet for a service that includes a mixture of well-known and modern hymns and songs, prayer, and a Bible based talk. The service ends with tea, coffee and a chance to make new friends. We are informal and like to think we're friendly and fun to be with! Children are welcome and provided for if accompanied by an adult. You would be most welcome to join us.
During the week Emmaus Church has four Home Groups that meet at various homes in Severn Beach during the evenings in the week. Each Group is different with its own leader. The Groups aim to provide opportunities to discuss the previous Sunday's teaching, ask questions and learn more about Jesus. It is also a good time to build friendships and pray for each other, the local and the wider community. A day time group called 'Breakfast@CBASE' meets in various homes during term time for mums of young children. At the moment (2010) they are following the Y Course with DVD and any questions about life and faith. Contact the church if you are interested in joining this group. From time to time, the church runs an Alpha Course (approximately every two years) which gives an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian Faith. It's relaxed, low key, friendly and consists of a series of talks followed by delicious refreshments and a time of discussion. It is supported by all the main Christian denominations. (Look at the Events Page to see if we are running one now.) See Events Page for other groups and activities. |
